If you want to start a WPF project then select that as the project type when you open a new project.

I'm using Community Edition of VS2013 so I have to go to the Online Templates (when I select "New Project") and then select a WPF template from the list - it might well be different in the purchased versions of VS2013

Basically ... select the correct project type when opening a new project
