The database size is nearly 25gb.. since the reports are getting slow i have scheduled the (index rebuilding and update statistics) maintenance plans after executing these plans reports are getting in a very lesstime...


the question is, since i am not DBA can any one guide me, the precautions/disadvantages in scheduling these plans

You'll want to schedule them after hours (if you have after hours) since it will definitely slow down the server. But if these are the built-in maintenance plans then you have no other issues you need to worry about.
