I wanted to start making android apps and so i was wondering where should i begin. I have asked some of my friends and they advised me to learn JAVA thoroughly first and then start diving into making android apps. I have programmed in c,c++,vb.net,html,php. So, can you guys give me some suggestions? Also, can you suggest me some good android tutorials? I have searched online and found a couple but still wanted to seek some advise before taking any step further. Thanks

Always follow the advice of your friends, they're again right to learn the Java programming language. Officially, Android development is done in Java language you can however use other languages to write applications in, but Java would be better.

To learn the Android development, you can use the Android's developer documentation, to learn the concepts, API and other features for building the applications. You will be able to find the tool to build the applications too (Eclipse, or now official IDE Android Studio).
