This one question is much of a opinion based question but short answer is to store the images and files in the File System not the SQL Server in binary format. Just save the name of the image in SQL server database table, but the actual image should be saved in the File System.

File system as compared to SQL server (or any other database) provides more space so it is better to save larger files and data that occupies more space in the file system rather than the database.
