I am getting a really strange issue. I have ClickOnce application which i deploy manually to clients running many different versions of windows. The issue I am facing is that on the machines running Windows Server 2012 and Server 2012 R2 the ClickOnce app often asks to be installed. What I mean is, I will install an app onto a machine running one of those versions of Windows and after a while (sometimes a few days, sometimes a few months) if I try to run the app on that machine, it comes up with the installation prompt screen. I have tried looking up this error, but I can find nothing of use. I am not sure if anyone else has experienced something similar?

Any assistance into this matter will be greatly appreciated.

I've had similar problems. Another variation is that the new version won't install at all.

So far the only fix I've been able to do is to remove the app completely from the computer and then do a fresh install. Sometimes I've had to manually clean the APPDATA folder.
