Aria itself is always written in a single line: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aria[^].

If a sheet music piece is written in several lines, it means that this is the partiture with other lines written fro other voices and instruments: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Partiture[^]. :-)

Input element in HTML is always single line. If does not need to be multiline, just because the textarea element does it. I have no idea why would not using it.
