Hello there,

I need help in somthing I'm trying to do for my company.

in our company, we have a few NetApp based servers to handle our files.
when we give a permmision to a user for a folder in the volume we do it like this:

there is the main folder (the actual volume)
under that there is the secondery folder
folder1
folder2
folder3 and contuining..

we have in our active directory a group for each folder, for example - we have a group called 'folder3-READ' , to that group we add all the users that'll have a READ permmision to folder 3, and to folder 3 we add the group.

if the user has permmision to folder 3 - he must have permmisions to the father folders (folder2,folder1, and on..)

the LAST folder in the tree (in this case, folder3) will have a read-and-write group.

I need to make an gui-based application to handle it like that:

*Creating a folder or a tree of folders in the netapp server.
*Auto-adding read groups to the active directory for each folder, and a read-and-write group to the last folder.

I have already figured out how to do make a group in the active directory using DirectoryServices.

How do I make the auto-group adding for each folder and figuring out how to detect whats the las t folder in the tree, to make it a read and write group.

and finally, adding the groups to the permmisions list of the folders?

any help with it would be appriciated.
