I only would like to add: you don't need to do anything to "switch": Visual Studio certainly allows you to work with different languages at once, separately or withing the same solution (and in some cases, even in the same project; in particular, you can mix C, C++ and C++/CLI in one project).

You probably refer to the VS request to specify type of the environment when you run VS for the very first time; and at that moment you probably selected "C# environment". It does not really matter; since that moment of time, VS is already ready to work with any other languages; you can also install the bindings with additional language later, but the bindings with C#, VB.NET, C, C++ and C++/CLI are set up during the VS installation; and the set can be changed later.
