i was like you only fives years back and face the same problem as you but today now i am very much comfortable with the job.
1) first decide if you really want to go for a career in the IT filed. if yes then start with basics of c and c++. this will help you a lot to get in touch what programming is.
2) the very next thing is try to understand the requirement of any project which you are working on. don't just start write down the code and try to complete your task. first clear the flow of your task and then go for the coding or database design or whatever.
3) don't hesitate to get help from the seniors and also read about latest technologies from Google. there are many ref site available.
4) keep faith in yourself. :)


gradually you will be used to such programming thing that you will love it. Happy coding
