am developing attendance project.

form1: is having menustrip(student_IN,student_out), when i click on Student_in , another form will be opened , then swipe the card,get the card_id into textbox of opened form student information form.

am writing a method for getting data from serialport instead of dataReceived event.so where can i call that method (method contains the data received from serialport) to display data into the opened form's textbox.

You wouldn't use an event on the TextBox. You use the event on the serial port and when you receive data there you then decide what to do. It shouldn't be dependent on your textbox.
