We have demos that run on Linux Ubuntu and that normally we boot of a USB stick. We are considering running them from the cloud instead which would make the demos available to a larger audience.

You can refer this document for creating a VHD and uploading it to a blob.Once after uploading you can create a managed image from the uploaded VHD. This image can be shared with respective users,service principles or AD groups within your organization.Please refer this document for shared image gallery.
