I assume this is part of a time limited trial system?
If so, then one of the fastest ways to get your software removed from my computer and banned from ever returning is to start messing with system components or my user interface. Ignoring that it doesn't work (The date can be changed in loads of ways, including in the System BIOS on power on) it implies that you are willing to mess with my computer in ways I do not want you to even try.

If you want a time limited trial that can't be "fiddled", then connect to your website when the application starts and check the eligibility there. Don't try to play games with user computers: it is a lot more likely to annoy legitimate users than to prevent piracy.
