I have created an azure vnet and a subnet inside the vnet. Now I want to spawn a container group containing only one container instance. How can I fix the ip-address and hostname of the container group while spawning the container group?

Is it possible? If not, then, what are the workarounds?

Not sure I am fully understanding your issue here. 

We do have the ability to deploy container instances to a Virtual network. This feature is currently in preview and you can find how to do that here:
