Most tablets & laptops do not have a keypad (the numbers and other keys usually on the right side of the keyboard). In general, this does not matter, since most characters can be copied & pasted from Character Map. However, the keys are still different keys, and if writing an app for a desktop machine, I need some way to debug or simulate pressing the keypad. Any ideas? Thanks.

If I understand you correctly, you wants to test the keyboard input for tablet, right? Well, my suggestion is that you could test with visual keyboard in desktop system as tablets and laptops also use that for input. But the best way is to have a real test device for this.
