In my SQL Server, I have a stored procedure which makes a copy of an existing database by using restore, backup and alter database commands every time a new deal is created.

Are you able to give the commands that you use for this to give me a better idea to what the process is doing exactly?  Do you backup the DB and restore it to a separate DB after every deal?  That seems excessive but maybe I've misunderstood?
