Hi,

I am confused with the CheckpointUsage property "ALWAYS" value.

I've read many blogs regarding the same and came to one conclusion that 

1. Never set this property as "ALWAYS", as it will cause the package failure.

2. Always set this property as "IfExists".

But here my question is, what is the use of "ALWAYS" property then, as it causing the package failure. Are there any scenarios, where we can use the "ALWAYS" option?

Hi mkanurag, 

It seems that the only scenario that the package will not fail due to "ALWAYS", is that the package failed during last execution, which mean there is an existing Checkpoint file. 

As you may already know, if the package execution result is success, the Checkpoint file will be deleted. So "ALWAYS" will only be a temporary option, if you really need to restart the package from the Checkpoint file.
