I'm trying to set up an HTTPS ingress with lets-encrypt, following the instructions here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/aks/ingress-tls and when I attempt to load my ingress, all I see is a page saying "502 Bad Gateway" and then the nginx version number. I used kubectl describe to look at the ingress and the certs, as well as kubectl logs to look at the logs for the nginx services themselves, and there is only thing that looks odd: there are no events listed when I describe the certificate.

Error code 502 means that the backend service connected to the nginx is not working properly.

Take a look at the service which you have specified in the ingress.

Try this out and let me know.

Are you getting 502 only for this route or for all the routes?

I followed the document and it worked well for me. I have used lets encrypt prod certs though.
