I have a two node S2D cluster using Premium storage.

I created a file share for an application, the load times were unacceptable (in the range of 1 minute in the same subnet)

I then noticed the share had continuous availability enabled, I disabled it. That brought the load time down to about 15 seconds.

Now for the challenge:

If I use the SOFS cluster name to access the share as I did in the test above, it is about 15 seconds.

If I directly browse the node to cluster storage folder and launch the application it is 3 seconds.

What gives? How can I troubleshoot this?
