We setup a new linked server and granted permissions and access to our users. We are using NTLM and not using Kerberos security. I can test and view the linked server and associated catalog.

However the user cannot. We are on 2016 SQL Server Enterprise Edition on Windows 2016 Enterprise Server. Any ideas how to fix this issue so the user can view the catalog under the new linked server?

Is the user correctly mapped to the remote user (SQL login on the target instance) in the linked server properties? Check the "Security" tab in the linked server properties and see if the local to remote login mapping is properly configured.
