We use a software that needs to access and write to a shared network drive.  I would like to move this to a Sharepoint Document library.  The problem is that I need to point the software to a physical network address in lieu of the virtual network address that I get when I map a sharepoint drive.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can accomplish this?

We did the same thing for many users. You can create a document library (Name should not have any space or special char because in some cases software won't allow and depends on the software which you are using).  Once the document library created, open library from Explorer view. Copy the address and use it in any software it will work.
