What is the future for WPF desktop apps if MS discontinues the windows OS and moves on to something else?  We have a monster Silverlight app which we're almost finished converting to WPF desktop.  it's been about 3 years in the making and we are not able to rewrite in to a new platform for years to come.

I don't think you should worry at all, because the window operating system is still in the process of continuous updating.

For example, Visual Studio is running in window OS, Microsoft is continuously updating Visual Studio, if MS discontinues the Windows OS, I think this is a huge loss for Microsoft.
