I'm researching options for a data warehouse / OLAP solution.

The use case is

• Large total data volume for the database, a couple of terabytes.
• Few queries with large volume per query. 
• Daily appending of new transnational data and occasional updates to historical data.

I'm hoping I can save the time of setting up a test database in a trial account by asking if Cosmos DB is meant for this workload. Everything I read about it seems to suggest it's an excellent OLTP solution, i.e. massive volume of small queries. However I also read that columnar storage is one way in which Cosmos DB stores data. Columnar storage is useful primarily for warehousing, so does that mean that Cosmos DB could be used for either OLTP or warehousing data loads?
