we are facing a GUI issue both with :

• Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Applications 2015
• Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Applications 2017

When defining a regular relationship under "Dimension usage", the "Measure Group Columns" drop-down list only shows up to 44 attributes of our DSV table...

Has anybody experienced the same problem ? We would like to avoid editing the XML code, or creating a named query to narrow down the attrributes number. What would you recommend ?

What exactly is your problem here? Are you complaining that there are too many attributes or that some are missing?

This dialog will only show you columns with matching data types so if some of your columns are missing it might be because you have mismatched data types. If this is the case you should fix this in your source database and then refresh the DSV.

I almost never see that dialog. I typically build my DSV over a relational schema that has referential integrity (foreign key relationships) defined, so these are brought into the DSV and the cube wizard uses these relationships to default these joins between the dim and fact tables. If the underlying datamart/datawarehouse does not have relationships defined I usually created them in the DSV before building my cube.
