解决方案

Some mail delivery agents provide the reply service which tells you that the address is not available. Also, one can try some e-mail addresses with the option of getting confirmation that a message is delivered. But it the recipient does not want spam, she/he will ignore it.

So, both ways won't guarantee you the result. And I think this is good. Please see my comment to Solution 1 where I explain why having some service or feature would open some spamming possibilities. I would highly prefer not having it.

By the way, are you sure your purpose of knowing these addresses is legitimate. I explained how it could be used for spamming, but why would it be needed for legitimate purposes?
