I am migrating a small network to Azure, 30-40 users and one of the objectives is to be SaaS / PaaS first. One of the things I have is a file and print server and I was wonder what I can do to avoid migrating the server VM and maybe just migrate the data to a BLOB storage with traditional user / groups access rights?

Also anyone done this with a printer server, avoid using a server?

What is the goal of the blob storage? Are you still wanting to get the files from the blob storage and print the contents? Such as the actual file not just what is listed in the blob.

I am not aware of a way to do this out of the box. You would still have to download the file, open it and print it.

You could still keep that print server on premise and connect the Azure Servers to it so it is still in use. That might be the simplest route.
