To answer your question about the Visualization and Modeling SDK (which was renamed Visual Studio 2013 Modeling SDK), we are not planning any new functionality at the moment, but we are also not planning to remove the tools from Visual Studio. They work in the current release (VS2013), updates to the current release and will continue to work in the next release and it’s updates.
