So we're thinking of moving some of our apps out to Azure, and have compared a lot of Azure's features and architecture with AWS's. The one thing that I cannot find a comparison for regarding Azure is whether Azure has multiple datacenters (aka availability zones in AWS speak) in each region. AWS has multiple datacenters in their regions, all linked by high speed fiber connectivity, which would allow us to run active-active from two different datacenters. Does Azure have the same thing? From their "datacenter locations map" they make it look like they only have one datacenter per region, which is a non-starter for us.
