I recently purchased a Western Digital 500 GB External HD. I had backed up a lot of my data and files onto it and did a fresh install of Vista home premium on my desktop. When I tried to connect the USB for the HD, Vista wouldnt recognize. I dont see any errors but Vista simply seems ti ignore the new device. To check if the USB ports are working I interchanged my other USB devices and Vista correctly recognizes them. I searched through Western Digital KB and didnt find anything helpful.
