So this now allows to switch between Linux and Windows Container and hence run both Linux and Windows based Docker images on Windows Server 2016. This is not the case with current Docker-EE in Windows Server 2016 (17.03.1-ee-3) which only allows to run Windows Docker images.

Is this capability to switch between Linux and Windows Containers going to be released in Docker-EE in the future? Is running Linux Docker containers on Windows Server 2016 going to supported for production use in the future?

The latest EDGE release of Docker for WS2016 on Docker store does allow to run Linux containers. My understanding was the same as yours that "Linux container on Windows Docker" is only for use for developers on Win 10. But I am confused why it was added to latest EDGE release of WS2016, which is why I am looking for confirmation if this feature will be extended for production use in future.
