Hi Team,

We have installed Microsoft machine learning server 9.2.1. But  we noticed that there is a change in R installation directory structure.We are using Rstudio as IDE and RStudio has been worked properly for the past 3 versions but this new version "breaks" RStudio's ability to properly load the RevoScaleR packages perhaps because it moves away from the traditional directory structure or which RStudio was designed.

 Rstudio is considering the "R_HOME" as "/opt/microsoft/mlserver/9.2.1/runtime/R", because its having the proper directory structure (its included "backup  bin  COPYING  doc  etc  include  lib  library  modules  share  SVN-REVISION") and also having a R executable but it  is Microsoft R open, so Rstudio is loading Microsoft R open. Microsoft machine learning server R bin executable is placed under the another directory "/opt/microsoft/mlserver/9.2.1/bin/R", which dont have any directory structure as I said above. 

Could you let us know why the R server executable needs another directory, Rstudio should be work properly if it was under the directory"/opt/microsoft/mlserver/9.2.1/runtime/R".

The problem you are having is simply a Rstudio configuration issue. Rstudio will try to auto-detect R on the system in the default CRAN location. To specify an alternative path you need to set the Rstudio variable 'rsession-which-r' as follows in either '/etc/rstudio/rserver.conf' or the file '/etc/rstudio/rsession/conf':

rsession-which -r = / opt / microsoft / mlserver / 9.2.1 / runtime / R

rsession-which-r=/opt/microsoft/mlserver/9.2.1/runtime/R
