Although I'm not sure what the exact replacement for watchdog in W10IoT Core is, it seems to me an approach where you spin up to processes can reach the same level of durability. One process is the core logic of you solution and the other process monitors the status and health signals of the other process. Both can run at the same time, which is different from .NETMF on NetDuino.
