I think you already asked this question (was that you?), but probably it was automatically removed due to abuse reports. Unfortunately, my answer was also lost.

My answer was: no, formally speaking, you cannot do it by definition. Imagine you have the functionality which would perfectly mimic Excel behavior and use the same file formats for storing, loading, imports and exports. Fine, but it won't be "Excel": "real" Excel 1) does not have Web functionality, 2) is not open source. You simply need to learn how to formulate questions accurately, at least in computing world.

Also, I would be very skeptical about practical value of this work. Who would need you when there are open source product, not online, which are closer to Excel in behavior (or maybe better in some aspects) than you can even imagine. First of all, this is LibreOffice (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libreoffice[^]). Having all that, who will bother to go online just to "practice"? It won't be Excel anyway, so why bothering? I would advise to spend your valuable development time for more useful projects.
