I just tried to install windows 8 developer preview and it looked like it was going to write over my OS before it gave me the option to choose where to install it. I want to duel boot it. Can I do that from installing it in windows 7 or do I have to boot int the DVD.
First create a free partition if you don't have one yet, then boot from the DVD to start the install.
You can dual boot Windows 7 and 8 by installing it on a different partition. Backup important data first, and you should not touch your restore partition if the hard drive has one.
