Browser's have yet to catch-up with the HTML 5 standard and not all features are supported/implemented by the various browsers. Please have a look at this site[^] to find out more about the compatibility of the browsers. In your case non compatible browser's will fallback to regular input box. Nothing you can really do about it. You may want to use JQuery DatePicker if the browser does not support such a tag.
