Does the Kinect support and allow for development of "custom" hand gestures? I am having trouble between deciding between Leap Motion and the Kinect to go for custom hand gestures that I want to define on my own. This is for creating my own custom sign language. Can someone please guide me with their expertise if you have used both. I would prefer sticking to the kinect for this, but is it's performance in such a scenario good enough?

Although Kinect support the development of new gestures involving hands (check Visual Gesture Builder), the current features only allows for detection of center of the hand, finger tips and thumb. This is not usually enough to create a "custom sign language", but it allows for swipe gestures, a driving gesture and that kind of gestures.
