While the larger fonts are easier to read, the non-liquid (and narrower?) layout combined with all the advertising you are putting on here means there is not much room left for content. I'd rather move my eye around a big screen (like many developers, I'm at 1980x1200) rather than have to click and seek out content against all the eye-catching (i.e., distracting) advertising/graphics.

If you go too stylized with your design it looks good but isn't as useable as the 'plain' but functional older style. I generally go to MSDN to read long dry articles, that call for all my attention. This isn't a TV channel!

I do like the clear focus on the 6 or so 'use cases', and think it will help folks focused on getting those tasks done.

(BTW, while entering this comment, the "Step 3 of 6: Provide as much detail as you can..." module modally appears OVER the Body where I'm trying to type making it impossible to see what I'm writing -- that is when I have the page full-sized or over ~1400 pixels wide.)

Thanks for the feedback, John! We decided to move to a fixed width because it was the only way to standardize similar types of pages across the network effectively (such as the home pages, support, community, etc.). While we realize many developers use a higher screen resolution, most of the people who visit MSDN, especially internationally, use the lower screen resolution. In the future, we will increase the resolution when most visitors to the site start using a higer resolution.
