Just tried to create my first Crystal report using visual studio 2005 (default installation)

I have read the appropriate walk-through scenario, yet there is a lot of information to take in and I was hoping you could help me with this problem.

I can create the report using add new item, and connecting to an SQL Server 2005 database using integrated security and the report previews fine in visual studio.

Unfortunately, when I create a report data source and select the newly created report, when I click on edit report I get "report source has not yet been configured" (obviously I have selected this previously)

This is not a deployment issue, as I have not got out of the designer yet :-)

I was having the same problem with Visual Studio 2008.  Make sure that the FileName value in the CrystalReportSource tag points to a valid file relative to the page.  Initially, when I added the controls and set the values through the smart tags, my tag ended up looking like:
