Start with the 1" red squares at the top.  Each has a reflection with a distance of 0, transparency of 0, and a blur of 0.  From left to right, the size of the reflection increases as indicated by the white numbers in each box.  Below each red box is a ruler of 1" length, with markings at 0.25, 0.5, and 0.75 inches.  For the red squares, the reflection ends at approximately the locations I expect.  For example, the red reflection with a size of 25% roughly ends at 0.25 inches from the bottom of the square.

There seems to be some evidence for expectation 2 above given that the green reflection with 25% size is not visible at all.  Indeed, the blue reflection on the right is just visible when the size is 35%.  But that number does not make sense to me.  For the reflection to end at 35%, then the distance must be approximately 2.8" (2.8" * 0.35 ~= 1").
