I am playing with RC0 and liking it a lot. I'm trying to persuade my current people to upgrade [from 2008R2 - urgh!] to 2016 instead of 2014, even if it means waiting a couple more months than originally planned. Anyone have any idea when we're likely to get the production bits?

Based on previous releases, I would say "real soon now". That is, there is not only an RC0 but also an RC1. So the next one would think would be RTM. Then again, for SQL 2016, Microsoft has released CTPs on a monthly cadence which is kind of new. So maybe they will do a couple of RCs, who knows.

My own personal speculation is that I would be very suprised if there is not an RTM available on MSDN when the month of April is over.
