Is there explicit guidance for the user experience for a app that uses native .dlls through desktop bridge?

 

We have an app that syncs data with our client Windows Native application. Because there is an absolute requirement that the app only work with our database software, we built the experience to terminate if the user does not configure the app. We provide this message below

If that is not configured to point to the location of the client application files, there is no reason to leave the app alive i.e Continue (as we state explicitly). Thus, we immediately terminate it.

However, that does not pass the Microsoft store scrutiny. Is there explicit UI/accessibility guidance for this?

The app is supposed to terminate. That is the design.

It is specified in the message that it NEEDS the location to continue. If it doesn’t have the location, therefore, it CANNOT continue.

And you don’t have the files so selecting Yes is not helpful in testing.

We changed the message in response to earlier failure reports. If we need to explicitly keep the app running, then we would like to be told that. Instead we are making changes and submitting, then waiting 4 days each time to get inexact information of what to do next. This is frustrating.

Are you saying the app MUST remain running? with no functionality and specifically be shut-down by the user?
