Hi all,

I've got a situation where, when a user prints to our printer from IE protected mode, it runs some code under the IE low integrity process. The code we run, happens to call CoCreateInstance to talk to a COM server.

This is absolutely fine in IE9 as I've added the CLSID of the COM server to an elevation policy, which sits under the IE registry area.

Problem is, the exact same thing doesn't work in IE8 (access denied is returned from CoCreateInstance), even though the document  I used said it was good for Internet Explorer 7 and later (see here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb250462.aspx#wpm_elebp).

Why is this?

If anyone can help I'd very much appreciate it!!

I searched some threads ,and I found that we can try set "Policy"=dword:00000003 instead of 0x01 in IE8 to fix this issue. I hope this solution can help you.
