When I display my appointments in a spreadsheet view the lookup for the 'Employee' displays like this:

string;#Last, Name (string;#Smith, John for example)

The field displayed is a lookup of Evaluee field in my Evaluees(re:Employees) table.  When I change the content of the lookup field to the len gth of the field then the display looks like this:

float;#Length (float;#11 for example if John Smith is Evaluee)

Now, in the actual Evaluee display the datatype does not appear.  My problem comes when in a Spreadsheet view I want to edit the contents of any field I have a problem saving.  The error comes because there is a mismatch between what appears in the Evlauee lookup field and what is in the dropdown for the Evaluee field.

For instance, the field my read Smith, John but when you open the drop it appears as string;#Smith, John. 

This has nothing to do with extranneous characters.  It appears more likely that there is some piece of debugging that has not been turned off by the dev team. 

QUESTION:  Since getting MS to fix anything is unlikely, is there a function that I could use in the calculated field box to make this go away.  Can I tweak the dom to turn this off?  I might spend a month trying to figure this out so if some enlightened mind out there can help me I would really appreciate it.

I have tried creating a new field to redisplay the contents of the calculated field.  No luck as of yet.
