I am trying to use MS Project to produce a cash flow, within the Task Usage display, this I have achieved.

However in addition, I would like to assign a number to certain tasks which represents a unit of carbon I can claim against them.

I would like this number to be included on the task usage, show I can not only show cash flow, but when carbon will be delivered over the life of the contract, month on month.

Can anyone help please? I am using Project 2013

What about using a material resource for carbon, the label being "units". Thus assign this resource to task with a certain unit and use the task usage view combined with the resource graph (cumulative work). Here is what it could be:
