I have a problem with MSBuild on a TFS2015/VS2015 checkin build environment. On my IDE, the MSBuild used is C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Bin\MSBuild.exe. The file version is v14.

For the TFS checkin build, the MSBuild from C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\MSBuild.exe is used. That file has version 4.6 (which I am presuming means it is installed by the .NET 4.6 Framework which VS2015/TFS2015 would have installed).

My thinking is these binaries should be the same but they appear to be functionally different in addition to being versioned differently? This error is received on running the build on our TFS2015 checkin build:

The "SupportsBindingRedirectGeneration" parameter is not supported by the "ResolveAssemblyReference" task. Verify the parameter exists on the task, and it is a settable public instance property.
