I have a complicated setup and some issue I am not sure how to resolve so I will start with a description of the servers.

There are three servers in my TFS 2010 setup, one SQL, and two Application (F5LB).  I have installed all the components on both Application tiers, Sharepoint, Reporting, and TFS webservice.  I have made the changes in the Admin tool to use the FQDM (tfs.domain.com)

Now in F5 if I disable the A node but the A node server is still running I can create a new team project without issue.  If I disable the A node in F5 and turn off the server I can not Create a team project.  Somewhere when the site is being created its still using the name of the server to access sharepoint to create the portal.  What leads me to belive that is another issue that I have.

If both nodes are up and running and turned on in F5, if I go the the team portal, on the left nav bar, if I hover over the Team Web Access I can see down in the status bar that its using the FQDN (tfs.domain.com:8080/tfs...)  When I click it, it redirects to the server name (servera:8080/tfs...)  Not sure why?

I mention this becuase the issues seem related in the fact that somewhere something appears to be pointing to the Server name of the A node.  I have double and triple checked that everthing is using the correct FQDN setting not sure what to do.  Or what other issue may arise from this.

Is there a white paper on how to setup a second node with respects to F5 instead of the NLB cluster in the help files.  Maybe I am missing something?

The one entery had the tfs.domain.com for the Sharepoint site, the Intergration Target had the machine name as the url (server:8080/tfs...).  I selected that entery and clicked modify to change the Intergration Target.  When I entered the FQDN it didnt work.  I found an article about disabling the Loopback Check, rebooted the server, and I was able to enter the FQDN in Intergration Target.  I added the DisableLoopBackCheck on the B node as well to keep the servers consistant so that if the other node was hit the same would work.

Now in F5 if I disable the first node for the FQDN and turn off the A node, I can now create a New Project and the link on the portal to TFS Web now uses the FQDN.

Whats the differnce between genereating a Project on the TSF server verses from a workstation?  I am wondering if there is an issue with my configuration.

When you are using the workstation, it is using the Virtual space, so the report server is mapping to that virtual space.  If you do it on the Server, my impression at least, is that is finding the resources locally under the server name, therefore it resolves to that.
