I am using TFS 2013 update 5 and I am using TFS process editor to edit workitems templates and workflow,the TFS allows me to add restriction on field by adding ReadOnly rule or on a transition step to be "For" specific TFS group but when I try to make any update in the TFS web acces I always get the "error TF237165: Team Foundation could not update the work item because of a validation error on the server. This may happen because the work item type has been modified or destroyed, or you do not have permission to update the work item "

I don't want anything fancy here ,I am trying to follow the very basic simple scenario {put myself in a TFS group and limit the transition of a workitem workflow to this group only then try to update any workitem of this type},how come such very basic scenario doesn't work ?!!!

The For specific in transition workflow will hidden the related state for the user that not in specific group. For example: <Transition from="New" to="Done" for="[Global]\Project Collection Administrators">, then the user not in Project Collection Administrators group will not see the Done state if current state is New.
