Hi

I'm having trouble making one shape out of several individual shapes. I've drawn individual shapes, lines and arcs and want to make one closed shape out of them so that I can fill it. However they insist on behaving as individual shapes.

I've set snap and glue to shape geometry, handles, vertices and connection points but the points don't snap. Snap & glue are set to active. Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong? By the way I'm using Visio 2000 SR1.

By this, do you mean you couldn’t see "Snap to Endpoint" when you attempted to connect the lines' endpoints?

 

Please go to Snap & Glue dialogue, click Advanced, select Segment Endpoint under Shape extension options:

In addition, Visio generally does not consider the shape to be closed when we create a shape by drawing individual segments and then positioning them to form the shape. To be recognized as a closed shape, it is recommended to follow the instructions in the article below to change the structure of the shape:

Meanwhile, since Visio 2000 SR1 is not supported by Microsoft now, I'd recommend you upgrade to newer version of Visio to get better support and user experience.
