This is an odd one, but take a look at this image:

That's my tile on the start screen. You can see there's a line in the border where the badge used to be (bottom-right), after I've programmatically cleared it.

On my monitors this is so dark that I can't really see anything at all.  Do you have a sample you can reproduce this with?
