We are currently looking into the possibility of doing a phased in approach implementing TFS2010 where we will create a few collections. I have heard some of the good things about having the collections like backups and grouping of projects. I have also heard bad things like you cannot query across all collections. What about reports will reports only work for single collections also? What else are seen as potential problems with collections? Further when you create additional collections does it build multiple cubes and warehouses? At first glance it does not but I was wondering. Thanks for your replies.

There is only one Warehouse and Cube, so you can report over multiple collections.
