I'm new to the whole windows phone app development so work with me here. On my app that I am working on, if I click on certain things a pop-up will appear that says "Search for app in the Store? You need to install an app for this task. Would you like to search for one in the Store?". If you click on 'yes' it says that it can't find anything. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Is it with in your app scope or you also want to do it in other apps.

If this is only with in your app, it is very much possible  by using MarketplaceSearchTask

MarketplaceSearchTask marketplaceSearchTask = new MarketplaceSearchTask();

marketplaceSearchTask.SearchTerms = "accelerometer xna";

marketplaceSearchTask.Show();

AFAIK, it is not possible to integrate  "Click on certain things"  with other apps.
